The Rescue Mission of Utica welcomes applications from people who are committed to the mission of this ministry, which serves people with financial difficulties and/or who are homeless, in recovery from an addiction, and/or mentally ill. The Rescue Mission is looking for employees with compassion and steady work histories to minister to our clientele by demonstrating and sharing the Gospel of Christ.

The following positions at the Rescue Mission are open and accepting applications:
Resident Counselor (Enriched Living Center)
The Enriched Living Center offers long-term and residential accommodations and supportive services to chronically and severely mentally ill men and women. The 52-bed facility is staffed 24 hours a day and is licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health.
Part-time jobs (3pm-11pm shift and 11pm-7am shift) are available. Positions require working some weekends and holidays.
Starting pay: approximately $9 per hour (depending on experience and education)
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and secure living environment for people with mental illness;
- Monitor medications with the residents (supervise the self-administration of medications);
- Assist the residents with personal hygiene, laundering, and social skills;
- Assist in housekeeping duties, and oversee the cleaning of residents’ rooms, as necessary.
Minimum Requirements: High school diploma (or GED); experience working with people with mental illness preferred. |
LPN (Addictions Crisis Center)
There are part-time and full time positions available. Starting pay is $12.50 per hour. There is no lifting required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Obtain medications, transcribe and administer medications per physician order and agency policy.
- Provide direct clinical nursing care per physician orders and in accordance with all clinical protocols.
- Monitor withdrawal process and medical condition of any clients under the influence of alcohol or other chemical substances.
- Correctly document or oversee delegated documentation of shift notes, opening notes, behavioral incidents, obtaining prescriptions and refills form, admission and discharge reports and all NYS OASAS forms.
- Perform or oversee delegated screening, intake, assessment, admission and discharges of clients.
- Conduct orientation or health education groups.
Minimum Requirements: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current LPN licensing and registration from the NYS Education Department. |
